Being a part of our community...

Being a part of our community by Ben Lawrence, Beaumont Lawrence managing director.

Being involved in the local community is important to everyone who works here at Beaumont Lawrence.

As a family-run insurance company, we want to foster good relationships with the public and other businesses in Shropshire.

Our aim is to focus on giving on advice and really getting to know a client’s needs.

We are a local broker, run by people who live in the area, and we want to help people who work in our economy

I spend a lot of time getting out and meeting people in the community, which is what a regional broker should be good at.

It’s about nurturing local contacts and making sure you understand the area you live and work in.

It’s also important to us to put something back into the community.

This year Beaumont Lawrence was proud to sponsor the Shrewsbury Grand Prix, organised by the Paramount Cycling Racing Team.

We want to see Shrewsbury proposer and this unique event brought thousands of people to the town and we took great pride working with local Shropshire companies to make the event a huge success.

We are also keen to encourage people to get fit and are always urging our staff to cycle to work so the Shrewsbury Grand Pri x really complemented our work ethos.

Beaumont Lawrence also pledged to support the Businesses For Children Conference and Awards, held in March this year.

We sponsored the Children’s Charity 2014 award, which was won by Telford and Wrekin Young Carers.

The winner was certainly well deserved and we were delighted to sponsor such a fantastic event and look forward to working with the awards again next year.

Many of our staff take up charity work in their own time, organising sponsored events and volunteering with local organisations, such as their children’s Brownie or Beaver clubs.

I myself volunteer with the Paramount Cycling Racing Team as manager of the elite Performance Racing Cycling Team and it gives me great pleasure to put something back into the local community.

We are a local business which wants to see our local economy and the people that live and work in it thrive. Being part of that community is vital to our work.
